Inspired by rainbows and the ripples from throwing stones on a lake.
Colored Porcelain and Clear Glaze
This is an extensive technique that I have developed. I create multiple layers of gradient colored porcelain. I mix each color with different amounts of translucent white porcelain, creating a light to dark effect. I then combine all the rainbow colors with their gradients and flatten and cut and layer them over and over again. Then I also do this with the pink shades only. I cut a piece of the gradient rainbow clay and the the gradient pink clay. I roll them out and layer them. Then I individually cut out each “ripple” and flip it, so that the outside ripple color is on the inside and the inside is on the outside. Once I am done I then roll the clay further to insure all the cut out and flipped pieces of clay are reconnected. Then I cup out the cup walls and base and bend, attach and combine them to form the cups. I then create the lip of the cup by attaching a combination of pinched and rolled clay to the top of each cup. At very last I add my signature stamp. The cups are allowed to slowly dry. Finally they are bisque fired, glazed and then glaze fired.

*Handle with care, applying too much pressure can cause cracking. These are like fine china.
*Do not shock with extreme hot or cold liquids this can cause the cup walls to crack.
